Major Russian Strikes Cut Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a young boy was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region experienced heavy assaults overnight. A minor died and several individuals were hurt.

The attacks follow nights of bombing campaigns in the area, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to identify.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were preparing for additional strikes.
